IMPORTANT: This guide outlines the essential steps for securely accessing your cryptocurrency with a Trezor device. **Never share your Recovery Seed (Mnemonic) or PIN** with anyone.
The Trezor hardware wallet offers unparalleled security for managing your digital assets. Accessing your wallet involves a multi-step process designed to eliminate risks associated with software vulnerabilities.
Before connecting your Trezor, ensure your computer is free from malware. We recommend using a dedicated, up-to-date operating system.
Once connected, the Trezor Suite or web interface will detect your device. You'll be prompted to enter your **PIN** on the device itself.
⚠️ **PIN Entry Security:** The PIN is entered on the **Trezor screen**, but you click the corresponding numbers on your **computer screen** using a randomized grid. This prevents keyloggers from capturing your PIN.
The device will display a unique grid of numbers, and you must translate this to the grid shown on your computer screen. This is a critical security feature.
For long-term security, consider utilizing the **Passphrase** feature. The passphrase acts as a 25th word for your recovery seed, creating a "hidden wallet."
Remember that the passphrase is **not stored** on the Trezor device. Losing it means permanent loss of access to the funds in that hidden wallet. Treat it with the same, or greater, level of security as your Recovery Seed.
To use the passphrase, check the option **"Enable Passphrase"** during the login process. Your Trezor will then ask you to enter the passphrase using the device's screen and a secure on-screen keyboard.
